Robert Sobukwe House Report 1 2018
Introduction
The year started with a Hall leadership training workshop attended by the Hall Comm. At the workshop the Hall vision was spelt out hinged on the following pillars:
In line with these pillars we tailor made our vision to tie into and contribute towards the vision of the hall.
We also had a combined dinner of the Hall leadership at Rat and Parrot, see pictures below.
O-Week
Keeping in mind the pillars of the vision of the hall we put together the orientation program with activities aimed at enhancing unity in the house. In particular, these included sporting and cultural activities. The team-work shown by the house leadership was par excellence. The commitment exhibited by the first years was second to none. This brought results in that the house won the RU jamming prize. See pictures below
Academic Talk
To encourage academic excellency we invited a speaker to come and speak about study techniques, time management and general career guidance. The talk was well attended and it was very informative. Ms Thina Maqubela gave superb talk. See photos below
